You should ideally prepare fresh fish on the day you buy it. If that isn't possible, it may have to store it for a short time. So we’ve collected a few tips on how best to store your fish.
Fresh fish from the NORDSEE seafood buffet
Pay attention to proper cooling when transporting it home. Our NORDSEE stores offer cooler bags in case you need on for your trip home. After getting home, place the fish in a neutral container and do not leave it in its original packaging. Ideally you should cover the fillets or the whole fish with foil and ice or a cold pack. That will ensure the fish keeps longer.

Fresh fish from the refrigerator
If you buy one of our delicacies from the supermarket refrigerator or buy some other fish from the refrigerator aisle, you will find the recommended storage time and temperature printed on the packaging. If you observe these recommendations and preferably cover the packaging with ice or a cool pack, you will be in great shape.

Frozen fish
Similar to the fresh fish from the refrigerator shelf, you should pay attention to the recommended storage time and temperature and the expiration date on the packaging of this fish. Before preparing, it is best to thaw the frozen fish in the refrigerator. The thawing water should flow freely and the fish should not be immersed in it.
